Two Prem aces at different clubs mocked for posting identical AI-style farewell messages to fans

TWO Premier League footballers have been mocked for posting identical AI-style farewell messages to fans.

Crystal Palace newbie Christantus Uche and Wolves departee Fabio Silva were accused of getting a chatbot to write the apparently heartfelt posts.

Nigerian attacker Uche, 22, agreed to join Palace on Monday’s deadline day after a season at Spanish club Getafe.

He then posted on Instagram: “When I first arrived at Getafe, I came full of ambition, dreams, and the desire to make a real impact.

“I know I didn’t come close to meeting the expectations.”

He went on to say he had “grown” and “learned” and “discovered the true meaning of family” before thanking Getafe — “From the bottom of my heart”.

However, it soon emerged it was exactly the same as Silva’s post a few days earlier, with only the names changed.

The Portuguese forward, 23, who moved to German club Borussia Dortmund after five years at Wolves, also admitted he “didn’t come close to meeting the expectations”.

He paid tribute to his old club in an identical manner to Uche then signed off: “Now it’s time for a new chapter, but I won’t forget where I’ve been. I’ll always be another supporter of this club. Thank you @wolves. From the bottom of my heart.”

Fans labelled the pair “PratGBT”.

One joked: “A.I. please write me a farewell post.”

Another said: “This is like getting caught copying your mate’s homework at school.”

One Wolves fan added of Silva: “That’s actually disgusting, fella can’t be arsed to write a goodbye message for club he’s been at 4/5 years.”
