Carabao Cup LIVE RESULTS: Dramatic 2nd round as West Ham concede two in TWO MINS to lose and Calvert-Lewin MISSES pen

No news from Sunderland

There has been no further news on the fan that was taken ill in the crowd at the Stadium of Light earlier this evening.

We will continue to look for updates and provide any news when we can.

Clarets leave it late at Turf Moor

Oliver Sonne grabbed a 91st minute winner for Burnley at home against Derby.

Aaron Ramsey opened the scoring after only 4 minutes before Bobby Clark equalised deep into the first-half.

The Clarets left it late but ensured that they were not going to be a top-flight casualty in the early rounds of the competition.

‘Incredible night’

After a brilliant penalty shootout win,Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Ethan Horvath was absolutely buzzing.

He said: “It was an incredible night.

“We knew it was going to be a tough match, but all credit to the boys in front of me. We dug in, and I couldn’t be prouder of the boys.

“All credit to the boys and this young team. I have only been in a couple of days! Yes, I did do my part, but they did their part.

“I have been in the door four or five days. I had to learn 10 new names in the first match I played and in this game I had to learn another 10 new names.

“Whatever happens if we go behind or go in front, we stick together.”

Swans sail into round three

Swansea City were held to a 1-1 draw by Plymouth this evening.

The hosts scored a stunning first goal through Vipotnik to take the lead after 22 minutes.

Wiredu notched an equaliser late in the half to send the teams in at the break on level terms.

Swansea went on to win 5-3 on penalties to book a place in the draw tomorrow evening.

Bees suddenly creating a buzz

Keith Andrews will not want this week to end.

An impressive 1-0 win against Aston Villa, was followed up with an unexpected 2-0 against Bournemouth on the south coast.

Many have the new manager down as the first to be sacked this season, if they can continue their current form, that might be a long way from the truth.

From high to low for Black Cats

Sunderland started their season with a 3-0 drubbing of West Ham.

Since then, a defeat on the road against Burnley was made worse by defeat at home against Huddersfield.

The visitors ran out 6-5 winners in the penalty shootout.
