THERE was lots of holding going on in the penalty area when Manchester United were given a first-half penalty.
If you are looking at Calvin Bassey wrestling with Mason Mount on its own, VAR were correct to call ref Chris Kavanagh over to have another look.
But as well as Bassey on Mount, you must also look at Luke Shaw on Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz as both incidents happened simultaneously.
I do not know why he was called over.
Even when Kavanagh went over to the screen, he was there for quite some time looking at it.
There are two incidents — so which one is the more serious?
The referee should have just played on.
They cancel each other out.
You can understand why Marco Silva has gone ballistic because for United’s goal, you can see a clear push from Leny Yoro on Bassey.
So why is that not disallowed?
Yoro’s goal was cancelled out by Emile Smith Rowe later on.
The draw left both United and Fulham winless from the first two Premier League games of the season.
