The PPV price for the April 26th event on DAZN between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn is £21.99 for UK fans and $24.99 for the world.
People on social media mostly say they won’t watch the Eubank Jr-Benn event. Occasionally, one or two will express interest, but they’re vastly outnumbered by fans who view this fight as unworthy of being ordered at any price.
Family Name Fight
The event will be staged at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, and promoter Eddie Hearn is already raving about how 60,000 tickets have been sold. Eddie is predicting 1 million PPV buys from easy-to-please UK fans, which is right because they love this fight for some strange reason. Americans see this as an eyesore, like a YouTuber match or a celebrity fight between non-boxers. Placing the fight on PPV is troubling because even the undercard is poor.
The Ring revealed the prices for the Eubank Jr. vs. Benn fight, and fans are NOT eager to order it for obvious reasons. Eubank Jr. (34-3, 25 KOs) and Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) are two guys taking advantage of their famous parents, making millions without beating anyone noteworthy.
The Undercard
– Liam Smith vs. Aaron McKenna
– Anthony Yarde vs. Lyndon Arthur
– Chris Billiam-Smith vs. Brandon Glanton
– Viddal Riley vs. Cheavon Clarke
As you can see, the card is 100% slanted toward the UK audience, meaning that the organizers are assuming that enough fans will purchase the event from there for it not to matter if it bombs worldwide.
It will, because fans aren’t interested in ordering PPV events just to see the children of famous British fighters go at it. If Benn and Eubank Jr. had beaten quality fighters before, that’s another thing, but they haven’t. Their resumes are so utterly terrible that it’s sad the promoters are peddling this junk on PPV to fans.
Conor Benn’s Best Wins
– Chris Algieri: 37
– Peter Dobson
– Chris Van Heerden
– Adrian Granados
– Sebastian Formella
Hearn’s Prediction
“The fight is going to be huge. It’s going to do huge pay-per-view numbers, well over a million buys,” said Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn to The Stomping Ground about the Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn event on April 26th. “You know it’s sold over 60,000 tickets already. It’s just a massive fight.”
Hearn is right. Eubank Jr-Benn will do well in the UK on PPV, but NOT elsewhere. It’s too bad DAZN isn’t making this event for free outside of the UK because it’s not viewed as worthy of ordering on PPV unless a person is from that country. You really have to be a big fan of the parents of Benn and Eubank Jr. for anyone to want to order this event.
“I listen to comments, ‘This is going to be a circus.’ This is a great fight. It’s very difficult to pick a winner in the fight,” said Hearn. “Most give a slight edge to Eubank because of the size. Others that know Conor better think he stops him. It’s a brilliant fight.”
You wouldn’t expect Hearn to admit that the Eubank Jr. vs. Benn fight is a circus-level fight, but that’s what it is. Eubank Jr. is 35 and has never won a world title. His best career win is against 36-year-old Liam Smith after being knocked out by him in their first fight in 2023.
“You’re not talking about two British greats. You grab their sons off the sofa and put them into a Misfit’s fight,” said Hearn. “These are two world-class fighters in their respective divisions. I just think stylistically, this is a brilliant, intriguing match-up. I think it’ll deliver, and that’s the difference. This isn’t a fight where they’re going to go in and feel each other out. They’re going to try and take each other’s heads off clean.
“I’ve never seen Conor train like this. He’s in the most incredible shape. One thing about fighters is that if you get yourself in the best condition possible, that’s all you can do,” said Hearn.
